Momentous Day For Snowdome – Our Biggest Ever News Coverage

As a Snowdome supporter, we wanted to inform you of a momentous occasion for the Snowdome Foundation.

Yesterday marked the launch of the Christine and Bruce Wilson Centre for Lymphoma Genomics at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. This launch was a significant milestone in Snowdome’s history as it has seen us grant our largest ever philanthropic donation towards blood cancer research, all made possible thanks to the immense generosity of Christine and Bruce Wilson and their immediate family.

The Christine and Bruce Wilson Centre for Lymphoma Genomics is an Australian first that will ‘make hope real’ for blood cancer patients. It will help identify those patients at risk of not responding to standard treatments and improve the way lymphoma is diagnosed, give patients better treatment choices and immediately start saving lives.

Up until now, only a very small percentage of lymphoma patients have been able to access genomics testing, which has meant many Australians affected by hard-to-treat cancers have not had access to personalised medicine, which matches a treatment to the specific condition for that patient. Thanks to the Wilson family along with Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and The University of Melbourne, this amazing philanthropic gift will change the lives of thousands of patients with blood cancers.
