Farewell to Cathy Rhodes
In August, we fondly said farewell to a fantastic colleague, Cathy Rhodes, Head of Operations and Finance who for six years was a crucial member of our Snowdome Executive.
Cathy’s enthusiasm and commitment to ensure the Snowdome office and financial management operated with great efficiency is greatly appreciated and will be missed. Whether it was tackling challenges with a smile, stepping up when things got hectic, or offering a helping hand to others, Cathy truly embodied what it means to be a team player.
Cathy had previously worked for over 25 years in the media and advertising industry before moving into the not-for-profit sector. When the opportunity to work for Snowdome arose, Cathy leapt at the chance to help Australian blood cancer patients live longer, better lives. Her experience was intensely personal, losing her mother to blood cancer. Cathy wanted to ensure that other families might be spared the same loss and heartache.
When Cathy joined us in 2018, she said, “As someone who has been personally affected by blood cancer, I am chuffed to be working with individuals whose sole purpose is to find treatments to ‘make hope real’ for blood cancer sufferers.”
We thank Cathy for being such an important part of our journey and our family. Her hard work, kindness, and positivity have left a lasting impression on our team, and we are very grateful for her contributions to Snowdome. Our organisation is in a much better place for this.
We send Cathy every best wish for her semi-retirement and wish her a fond bon voyage as she enjoys an extended trip to Europe.
