Snowdome Foundation with Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision named finalists in the Victorian Telstra Business Awards.
A new ‘Charity’ classification in the prestigious Telstra Business Awards has been introduced this year, recognising the significant contribution charities make to Australian communities and the economy.
Not only was our application short-listed as one of the most outstanding candidates in Victoria, we are now a Finalist meaning the Snowdome Foundation along with Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision have been regarded as one of the top six not-for-profits in the State.
Snowdome Foundation Chairman, Roger Greenman, says, “We are thrilled to be recognised for our unique work to accelerate new treatments to Australian blood cancer patients to help them live longer, better lives. Our entire Board of volunteers works tirelessly to raise funding which results in new research, clinical trials and projects that have helped Australian blood cancer patients gain access to treatments that were not otherwise possible.”
Each year, roughly 12,000 Australians are diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma and a further 140 are diagnosed with bone marrow failure syndromes. Since forming in 2010, the Snowdome Foundation with the Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision collaboration has raised $11.5 million, which has ultimately led to 229 Australian leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma patients gaining hope through participation in ground breaking treatments.
“We believe this recognition is a reflection of the trust our stakeholders have in the Snowdome Foundation and our passion to ‘make hope real’ in the fight against blood cancers” Greenman continued.
The Victorian winners will be announced on Tuesday 19 July. State winners go into the National finals, to be announced on Friday, August 26. So please keep your fingers crossed for us!
