Lauren Frazer changing community, changing lives

Lauren Frazer is one of the wonderful Snowdome volunteers who is changing lives and a community.

Lauren was working at the Big Group as a stylist when she met one of our Board Members, Helen Gandel. It was a meeting that was fortuitous for all involved. Snowdome, in collaboration with Maddie’s Vision, were planning their first ‘Bloody Good Dinner’™ event and needed someone who could make the room come alive. Lauren had a connection to blood cancers as she had lost her grandfather to multiple myeloma and her own father was being treated for Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She had also been brought up watching her father volunteer for the State Emergency Service (SES) and he had instilled in her the value and importance of helping a community. So, she did not hesitate to join the ‘Bloody Good Dinner’ event committee in the role of event stylist.

Each year Lauren not only transforms the ‘Bloody Good Dinner’ event space to create an unforgettable night but just as importantly she helps to bring the blood cancer community together. For the first event, she transformed the Meat Market into a sea of red and blue, then in year two she created Little Chinatown NYC and no one can forget the incredible setting last year at The Timber Yard for Burnt Ends. Lauren does all of this as a volunteer while working full time as an event planner for the Darling Group. When asked what impact she was hoping to have Lauren commented, “I hope to create a meaningful and memorable experience that will facilitate fundraising to find a cure for blood cancers.”

We think Lauren has made an incredible impact and is helping Snowdome to achieve its mission to accelerate next generation treatments to Australian blood cancer patients to help them live longer, better lives.
