Volunteer Week – Shining a Spotlight on Kasey Thompson

Kasey Thompson is the co-owner of Blakes Feast . Kasey gives so much of her time and Blakes Feast time and energy to Snowdome.  We are incredibly lucky and grateful to have Kasey as a passionate Snowdome Foundation supporter and Volunteer.

Q.1 How did you become connected to Snowdome?

A. I lost my Stepmother Enza to Multiple Myeloma in 2015 and was trying to find a charity to volunteer with that was making a difference and wasn’t quite so depressing. My sister Neredah ( co-owner Blakes Feast) told me about Georgie Tandy’s father and the Snowdome Foundation and put us in touch.  Georgie told me about a concept they were working on called the ‘Bloody Good Dinner’ and the rest is history.

Q2. Why do you donate so much of your time and Blakes time and resources to Snowdome?

A. Because we really are blown away by what Snowdome does and we want to assist them in ‘making hope real’. We can’t afford to donate large amounts of money but we can offer our services and contacts and time, so that’s what we do.

Q3. What do you love most about being part of the Snowdome family?

A. I love the connections, everyone is touched by blood cancer in some way and even though it’s really sad, it’s amazing to see how people can bind together and make a difference.

Thank you Kasey – you really are ‘making hope real’ for Australian blood cancer patients.
