Wishing Tessa well

The Snowdome Foundation sends heartfelt well wishes to Australian actress Tessa James who has revealed she has Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a form of blood cancer.

Tessa, aged 23, has returned from the U.S. to Australia to commence treatment.

Unlike other cancers, routine screening and public health awareness campaigns won’t reduce anyone’s risk of developing a blood cancer. Sadly, blood cancers don’t discriminate – men, women and children are affected equally.

Hodgkin’s lymphoma is the same cancer that Delta Goodrem was diagnosed with 11 years ago. On the tenth anniversary since her diagnosis, Delta wrote a message of hope to her fans and other sufferers: “I was petrified and shook uncontrollably for the next 48 hours after hearing the words “You have cancer”. I am so thankful to be here today and hopefully that stands as a symbol of hope and strength for those in the midst of their battle …. to know that they are not alone.”

There is an urgent need to find new treatments and seek a greater understanding of blood cancers. The Snowdome Foundation’s mission is to accelerate treatments and therapies for Australians with blood cancers to help them live longer, better lives.
