Investing in blood cancer research in Western Australia

In a very short period of time Blood Cancer Research WA, supported by the Snowdome Foundation, has managed to increase the number of blood cancer patients on clinical trials by almost 100 and reduce the waiting time to access a trial from five weeks to five days. However, Assoc Prof Chan Cheah is determined to ensure that Western Australian blood cancer patients get the best possible chance at a cure in their home state and will not stop until they do.

Adrian and Michela Fini very kindly hosted a private lunch at the Wildflower, COMO The Treasury for guests to understand the impact their donations have had on the lives of Western Australian blood cancer patients. Chan discussed the research discoveries currently underway and the vision for the future which centres around bringing lifesaving treatments such as targeted immune therapies to Western Australia. Chan expressed his appreciation to those in attendance who give so generously to make his vision a reality.

Adrian Fini summarised the inspiring talk by stating ‘miracles can happen’ and with the incredible work of Chan, we can all assist in ‘making hope real’ for Western Australian blood cancer patients.
